Heritage Home Program available

Bellaire-Puritas Development Corporation (BPDC) is pleased to promote the Heritage Home Program.  Thanks to funding designated by Councilman Martin J. Sweeney, the Heritage Home Program will be offered as a resource.  Homeowners with older homes who are thinking about home repairs, maintenance and remodeling can take advantage of the technical assistance and low interest rate home loans available through the program.

Your home does not have to be a home of architectural significance to qualify, it only needs to be at least 50 years old and of three units or less.  Properties can be owner occupied or income producing (rental).  As always, the Heritage Home Program staff is available to assist you with your project from start to finish!

The Heritage Home Program offers homeowners FREE advice on home improvement, maintenance, and repair issues that are unique to older homes.  This technical assistance component of the Heritage Home Program is what sets it apart from other programs. Now any homeowner wishing to do work on their older home can have the help and answers they need in order to get the project done properly. Cleveland homeowners can take advantage of free:

• Site visits to answer home repair, improvement and maintenance questions.

• Advice on increasing energy efficiency.

• Contractor Resources

• Evaluation of contractor bids and estimates.

Qualified homeowners also have the option of obtaining a low-interest, fixed-rate Heritage Home Program loan, with rates as low as 1.4%!  There are no maximum income restrictions or points involved with the Heritage Home Program loan and the interest is tax deductible.  Financing is based on bank lending requirements and available home equity.  Many projects are eligible:

• Exterior and Interior Painting

• Kitchen and Bath Improvements

• Compatible Additions

• Roof Repair and Replacement

• Basement Waterproofing

• Window Repair

• Masonry Repair

• Insulation

• HVAC Upgrades

• And much, much more!
