Schools as Neighborhood Resources (SNR)

Did you know Ward 18 opens another recreation center every November to April? Three nights a week from November through April Artemus Ward K-8 School on W. 140th Street will open up as a “lighted schoolhouse” through the Schools as Neighborhood Resources (SNR) program for activities such as basketball, ping pong, soccer, walking clubs, arts and crafts, board games, blood pressure checks through the American Heart Association and a free meal for children and youth up to age 18.

SNR is open on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. from November to April and if you have ideas for activities you would like to bring to the program, call Blair Wise at Neighborhood Leadership Institute at 812-8700 ext. 209. The program begins Wednesday, Nov. 4th.
