Free tutoring K-8

Parents often tell us there is not enough tutoring or that they don’t know how to access tutoring for their child.

labFor the last two years, Cleveland Public Library has been providing trained tutors from America Reads to students at the Rockport branch, located on W. 140th St. and the corner of Puritas Avenue.  These tutors are students at Cleveland State University and provide tutoring for Kindergarten through 8th grade students.

Tutoring goes from 3-6pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with students coming as little or as often as they are able or need the help.  There is also an afterschool snack available at the library.  To learn more about tutoring, check the flier here or check the branch’s website here.

Besides tutoring, the library has computers available and special library cards just for children’s use.  This library branch will soon open a teen center just for teens to use that will be a safe, appropriate space for “hanging out” with teen programming and resources for teens to watch movies, make their own music, use the internet, use green screens to film music videos, etc.
