Snowflakes & State of the Ward

We want to share the Councilman’s neighborhood update dated December 23, 2016. Consider it a sneak peak for the State of the Ward Address on January 4th!

“Greetings Neighbor!
“I hope this email finds you warm, cozy and ready for the Holidays that are fast approaching. I wanted to take this opportunity to update you on some things that are happening in Ward 16:

“West 130th: As an early Christmas gift, I want to inform you that Phase II (I 71 – Bellaire) will be open today (Friday) to both North and South bound traffic. The road construction is complete and will be open by the end of the work day. There is still some culvert work to be done however, when that work is going to be completed, traffic will remain open both ways but, with some delay as a temporary light is going to be installed while the culvert is being rebuilt. The final phase of the project (Bellaire – Brookpark Road) will start in the Spring. We are still negotiating the traffic pattern for that portion of West 130th and I will be holding at least two community meetings to keep you all informed.

“Lorain Ave.: In case you have not noticed, we now have snowflakes up as part of the beautification of Lorain Ave. It has been years since Lorain Ave. has been decorated for the season and it is a valuable asset to the neighborhood. The lights will remain up through January.

“State of the Ward Address: I will be holding my 2nd Annual State of the Ward Address on Wednesday January 4th. This will take place on the campus of Blessed Trinity located at 14040 Puritas Fogarty Hall. Come on out and join us as I will review all the happenings and accomplishments of 2016 and will brief you on the goals and objectives for 2017. Light refreshments will be served.

“Commander Daniel Fay: The 1st District has new leadership in the Division of Police. Commander Fay was sworn in on December 12th and he will bring a new, fresh and energetic approach to law enforcement. Commander Fay will be at the State of the Ward Address and I will be hosting a couple of opportunities within the Ward to introduce Commander Fay.

“As we close 2016 and get ready to ring in 2017, my family and I want to wish you a very Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a very prosperous New Year. I look forward to 2017 as I believe it will be a very good one for Ward 16.

“As always, please call if I can help!
